To attach legs to a marble, granite, quartz or other stone top, we would recommend fixing a 24mm thick strong wood board to the top with an adhesive and screwing the legs into that. We'd recommend using a decent plywood, and avoiding things like MDF or particleboard.

For a smaller side table you might be able to glue the legs directly to the top, but for guaranteed sturdiness we'd really recommend the first option.
